I picked up this bike on ebay a few years back when I wanted to start track racing. Original paint, 3t stem, cinelli handlebars (so I was told), and new just about everything else. The wheels that came with the bike were original french track wheels, but they're rolling around on one of my ex-girlfriend's bikes at the moment. (I'm currently building a more aesthetic pair of wheels, and will be sure to upload a photo when they're done!)
I've been racing for a few years with it on the velodrome in Redmond, WA, and Perth, Western Australia. I use it every day, though, in lieu of a car.

Ok, now that's a really cool paint scheme on that bike. My local bike shop owner has a black '84 Gitane track bike that I'd love to have but I don't have any way to really train on a velodrome - despite being 2 hrs from Redmond, WA. Hope you'll be there this summer as I'm going to take my 13 yo to Marymoor for some of the Friday night races.
I remember being there in 1985 for the U.S. National Championships - what a blast that was. |

That paint scheme was something else,eh? I have a 1984 Kilo, which I have never taken on the road...only on the velodrome at Carson. Really cool, but haven't had the time to get on the track lately. |

Crikey! I remember that handle bar tape. Circa 1991-2. Nice to see so many Aussies hanging around here. Maybe we need a name change, eh Sandman? How does GitaneOZ sound?
That's a nice bike you got there kskotheim. |
