Hi all. A long time ago, in a GitaneUSA forum far away.....
We were talking about the Maxi Sports bikes used by Castorama and any possible connection they may have had with Gitane. Well, I was chatting with my friend Darrell (llewellyn bikes), who was telling me that he visited the Maxi Sports factory back in the early 90's while he was racing in France. The factory was in Tours, and not at all connected with Gitane. Question answered. I'm sure you will all sleep better tonight. 
As an aside. Darrell raced for the same club as a certain Laurent Brochard. The stories that guy comes out with! I'll have to tell you all about Ekimov crashing the Russian team car into the back of the Aussie team car some day.......  |
