Hello!
I'm the proud new owner of this lovely bike. I looked in the catalogs on this website and found it in the 1977 catalog. Obviously, I have the ladies' mixte version, which isn't pictured in the catalog. My bike appears to have all its original components (as listed in the catalog), except for newer tires (which I'm sure is a good thing, since the bike is almost 30 years old!) Does anyone know if 1977 was the only year it was made? Or anything else about the Olympic Record II? I've ran out of places to find information!
Anyway, I really love this bike- it fits perfectly, it rides nice, everything works (needs a little bit of cleaning!). Just thought I'd share it with all of you!
~Shannon (p.s. I'm new at the forum, so I hope the photos aren't too large or anything)

Shannon:

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Beautiful bike, by the way. My wife has a Raleigh of a bit older vintage (1960's), which is a three speed "Mary Poppins" bike.

Really glad to see that the bike is being used and well taken care of!

Don't know too much about the bike. I would imagine that it was probably built throughout the late 1970's...but all I have as evidence is the catalogue.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply!
As much as I love my bike, I must say I'm a bit jealous of your wife and her three speed! I've been keeping my eye out from an old three speed- but the Gitane came into my life, and I'm fine with that!
