Do you think that Contador is riding "clean" in the 2009 Tour de France?
Yes. His performance is all natural.

Considering the performance, what is your opinion on whether it is being done on "bread and water" alone?

The more I watch - the more questions I have. It's a question we may never know. My personal opinion is there will always be riders who are not "clean" it's just a matter of getting caught. Heck, for that matter, performance enhancing/cheating is a problem throughout most sports - so what makes it any different for cycling.

Of course, I had questions about Lance all those years but my attitude then was one of apathy.

He's young and could be that strong. If he is doping he may be taking something that isn't being tested for as of yet. I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt (although I'm still rooting for LA -'You go geezer!')

Chas. - older is better!

I'd love to believe he's clean. Just call me the skeptic.

Team Radio Shack will come back next year to win. To come to think of it, Lance will be old...and Radio Shack is "yesterday's electronics store", so it is a perfect match.

I heard that "Depends" will be a co-sponsor, with their logo on the team's rear ends and specially designed chamis....

Went with my 23yr old son for a ride last evening---it was great fun !! Very Happy But, he left me in the dust every time I tried to sprint away from him. Embarassed

I'm still cheering for us "old farts" ---but something to say about 33yrs difference in my case. Which I believe we are seeing in the 12-13yrs difference in Lance and Alberto. "But Still I Can't fathom what Lance is doing at age 37-38yrs."

Looking forward to tomorrow and Mt. Ventoux.

I don't have issue with LA's performance at his age. Plenty of other riders have raced at the top level at that age, or older. Anyone remember an old fart called Joop? LA clean or no is still a champion bike rider.

If you read between the lines of other riders' comments, it becomes apparent that they are still riding at two speeds. It's just that the list of riders going at the slower of the two speeds is growing in number. Sastre all but named Contador the other day in his little 'rant' to the Journos. Basically he said that he is on form and going full gas, but instead of winning the Tour like last year, he is nowhere near the competition. Greg LeMond said the same sort of thing the year Indurain won his first Tour. Evans is dropping hints like they are hot potatos. Even Nicolas Roche hinted at this in his interview on PEZ today (last paragraph). They can't say anything outright as they will be slapped with a lawsuit.

I think there are riders who are clean (cleaner....[sorry Sandman Wink ]) and there are guys who know they can still beat the system. Need I mention DiLuca at this point? Why, for the love of God, would you use EPO CERA when you know that guys have already been caught, when you are aiming for the GC, and when the UCI is free to target specific riders and your name is near the top of their list? It seems incredulous!! Answer: Because you are VERY VERY confident that you will not get caught.

I think AC is a very talented climber, but I cannot understand where the power comes from to pull of these big TTs. He should be losing time in the TT like the Schlecks and Sastre.
