OK Ladies and Gentlemen. Please place all your bets on the table no later than next Friday. Please register your top 3 for the final GC and any other predictions that you would like to make. i.e. the other jersey classifications or stage wins.

Wisey's picks:

1. Armstrong
2. Schleck (Andy)
3. Contador

Jens Voigt for a stage win.

Robbie McEwen for the polka dot jersey. (yes I know it is more likely that Chas will win that particular competition, but at odds of 75 billion to one, if my old mate Rob can pull it off I will have a personal wealth bigger than the combined GDP of Greece, Portugal and Spain. Laughing

Good luck everyone.

I don't see how could anyone beat Contador... Unless he loses 12 minutes trying to figure out how to behave on cobblestones.

Other than that... I see Armstrong going for the yellow at some point ( I don't think he believes he can actually win-should have returned in 2008).

The big unknown for me is Basso... Not quite sure he can handle a second grand tour in a row.

Evans being Evans... Well, that pretty much tells all, although I think he'll be there for a stage win. Not too bad having Hincapie on your team before the cobs, though.

Schleck ? 60 ITT kilometers too many, I'm afraid.

Christophe Le Mével will be on the podium... Not !

With the Tour almost ready to get going, I thought it an appropriate time to post a photo of our most beloved Frenchman.

The Cool Badger at his finest:

(OK, so it was in Paris-Nice, not the Tour.... Wink )

1) Contador - not that I want to put him first, though
2) Armstrong
3) A. Schleck
4) Wiggins
5) Basso - like Nicolas tough to say how he'll do after the Giro

Of course, I have to go with Tyler Farrar for a stage win. His home town is 100K from me.

Sorry, hope that's PDT, missing the cutt off time here in Ks this evening.

Well to go with my choices from Cobblestone Fantasy

1.) A. Contador (but hope he doesn't listen to his team director & screws up)

2.) A. Schleck

3.) I. Basso Rolling Eyes

4.) A. Kloden

5.) L. Armstrong Wink

Actually I am rooting for Brad Wiggins Cool . Maybe

And as always hope for Thomas Voeckler to win a stage--even better--- to be back in the yellow jersey for a while. (I just have always liked his style) Really like to see Jens Cool get through this years tour safely. How can you not like Jens???

But really hope the old fart LA turns the tables on AC.

Garmin-Transitions look like they've come loaded for Bear.

How's that for total indecision this evening---just excited to see the 2010 TdeF get started and 6-8hrs /day of Versus Channel for the next 3 weeks.

C.A. & too many bottles of "Blue Moon" Belgian White brews this evening for this post.

May have to edit tomorrow Laughing

Peace & Good Health & happy holiday weekend to everyone. Let the Tour begin!!!!

Let's see if Armstrong can repair some of the damage. Looks like a big NO, but maybe a stage win?

He really has had bad luck this tour, especially yesterday. It would be pretty amazing if he even reached the top ten at this point. Going for a stage win would make sense. Otherwise to become a super domestique and support Leipheimer would really be classy.

Well, looks like none of us will win the jackpot! I have to say that I liked the fact that both A.Schleck & Basso seemed to have genuine grimaces on their faces. The fight for 4th to 10th place looks like it will be the most interesting part of the race. Levi is in the hunt. I am kind of hoping he can get on the podium. Him or Basso. Hoping for a recovery and stage win from both LA and CE.

Don't like Levi. No "panache". And I was hoping for a more wide open tour, although the battle between Schleck and Contador should be entertaining enough. If Schleck doesn't put at least 3 minutes into him, it will be "lights out" for him in the ITT.

Schleck lost 11 seconds to Contadoper today (did I just say that out loud)? I fear things won't go well for Schleck. This should make for a fun trip through the Pyranees though, as Schleck will be forced to ATTACK!

The more interesting story though: Vinokourov looked PISSED OFF when Contador passed him up. There really was no reason for Alberto to attack when he did. It would have made more sense to attack and bridge to Vino just as Vino went over the top.

Guarantee one thing: Next year, no Contador on Astana.

And one more thing: Why on earth would Contador refuse to give the stage to the Katusha rider, who ended up winning anyhow? What an idiot. He should have given him the stage and taken a few more seconds. Contador's vitamins seem to be getting in the way of his better judgment.

Well... I think everyone is pissed... Except Contador and Rodriguez, of course.

Since the start, Andy seemed over confident in his abilities, Spa excepted, and should bite his balls for not attacking sooner the other day when Contadoper was not at his best.

I think we should compare AC's hematocrit before and after the rest day...

Anyhoo, Andy has talked at lenght about how he's friends with everyone from Contador to Armstrong... Well, maybe being a competitor would help ?

Sorry folks, pro cycling these days tends to get on my nerves. And don't get me started on Frank Schleck saying cobblestones shouldn't be allowed on the Tour...

Yes, it's a bit of a farce with those guys at the top of the GC. However, it is good to see that most of the guys in the lead group are really suffering in the mountains......... with the exception of a few who pedal like wippersnippers and don't need to breathe.

I don't really care who wins this year, but I am enjoying watching the race for 3rd - 15th.

Schleck listens too much to his own press, and I'm not sure he's that smart either. The other day he told the press how Armstrong "gave" him a Livestrong wrist band to match his yellow jersey. He didn't even have to pay for it. Now I reckon that Armstrong probably know the value of having the Yellow Jersey representing your brand. ($$Millions) And he got Schleck to do it for free. Schleck doesn't have a clue.

Get rid of the radios and he would be lost.

As for Contadoper or Donkeydor, does he think he's the next Badger? I'm going to win everything! Pity he couldn't actually pull it off, and he made some more enemies along the way. Good thinking Bert. He's really just a confused skunk.
