The parts came off of an 1987 Team Pro, so this is about as "original" as you are going to get with a bike which was parted together.

It looks good to me Stephan. Nice machine.

You say the parts came off an '87 Team Pro, yet this post is headed as an '87 Team Pro. Did you cannabalise an '87 to make this machine?

I purchased the parts from a former Gitane dealer in Texas, who had owned two of these (one for him, one for his wife). He told me that all of the C-Record parts came off of his Team Pro. Then, about 1 year later, I purchased the frameset from another person in northern California.

That's good hunting. It sometimes takes a while to find what one needs but it's worth the wait as we all know. The early C Record is a very attractive group and not that common as a complete set.

C-Record is my favorite. I was lucky to find the cobalto brake calipers intact as well...jewels and all, which really match the Gitane blue color (colour).

By the way...it took me YEARS to find the Sedisport Silver chain for this bike. So everything on it...including the tires (tyres)...is 1980's vintage.

(I don't know why the British spelling of stuff is giving me a kick this morning).

I'll settle for the correct color and decals on mine...
