For anyone with a damaged or stripped thread in the bottom bracket shell.
Options: Re-tap english thread to italian - expensive, destroys paint work, but is moderately successfull.
OR: Try to get hold of one of the old Mavic threadless cartridge BB's. ->
Very few available - expensive for 2nd hand BB.
OR: YST now make threadless cartridge BB. Square taper only. 110mm, 116mm, & 126mm only. Budget quality only.
Cheap, easy instalation (shimano spline). Perfect for retro restoration. |
