That's an '83 spec'd parts build on an '84 frame.

Belief it or not but I just bought a second almost identical frame. It comes from France (Ebay 69 euro's) and looks completely simular to the one I bought before (see the earlier photo's of this post). The differences: it has the black G on the head, a Shimano 600 head set and the square Reynolds 531 decal is at a different (unusual) place, down at the seat tube. Most important difference; just a few little damages, this frame looks still wonderful after 33 years!

I have a 1980 Team Pro.
This one is earlier than mine.
I think it's from 1987-1989.

Mine:
Frame: Columbus SL Tubing
Cranks: Stronglight 107
Pedals: Maillard 700
Hubs: Maillard 700
Rims: Mavic G40 Clincher (non team spec)
Derailleurs: Simplex Super LJ 6600 (Spidel)
Headset: Stronglight A9
Brakes: Modolo Master Pro
Saddle: Selle Italia Turbu (Bernard Hinault)
Tires: Michelin Clincher (non team spec)
Seat Post: Shimano Dura Ace (non team spec)

I also have the team bottles, jerseys, shorts, socks & caps (Castelli)

1983 is when they rode the bike with this year components its in the 84 catalog. the difference with yours and the 84 catolog is the braze-on front derailleur. your has a clamp-on front derailleur. the team rode the frame like yours in 1984 fitted with all campy sr . i have both the 83-84 and this frame also.

Today I photographed my 'new' rebuilt 1980 Gitane Trophée. I used the second frame I showed earlier at this topic. I 'collected' a complete and all original Shimano DURA ACE EX DD group. Stem and steer are Cinelli, seat is a Rolls. Rims are black MAVIC GEL 280.

Just kidding Frenchbuilt! It was a try to get the topic alive again. You're the first who reacts on the topic after I posted the pictures more than a week ago.

good decision! Beautiful bicycle.

When things get a bit boring, I usually throw in a subject like:

derailleurs are getting $$$$

Ridiculous prices of course! Ebay sometimes shows real madness!!!
Something else; overhere in Amsterdam a 13 year old boy started his own business in buying, restoring and selling vintage bikes. And... HE'S DOING VERY WELL!!! He gets much publicity at the local press and even had some items on the national television.
I contacted him and offered him a bike photoshoot. He came to my studio 2 weeks ago and I photographed two of his bikes (afterwords I shot my own Gitane with the same light set-up). Over the past 6 months he sold more than 70 bikes! I already have mentioned him on the British RetroBike forum.
