I would like to possibly build up a new set of wheels for my 73 TdF. The bike currently has tubular wheels 700c 22mm. I am pretty happy with them but would like to see if I could have a nice little project building some up.

What parts would you pick for a period look and performance set? I don't know what is readily available but starting to look now.

Since the bike has lots of clearance, something like 700c x 28mm might give you more versatility than a narrower 700c, since you already have a narrow wheelset.

Since your rear spacing is 120mm, you might need to find vintage hubs from a bike shop or ebay. Velo orange has nice vintage-looking rims.
