I have a Gitane Vainquer that I am looking to possibly sell, can someone please tell me what type of price these bikes are going for? The bike is in great shape, with just a few minor scrapes on the frame, Shimano 105 derailer, Shimano Suntour shifters, and Matrix rims. Thank you for your help! |

bod3756,
A picture would be helpful; (easy for me to say). In referencing our www.gitanusa.com catalogues category takes me to the 1988 catalogue. The third model down (picture of the Vainqueur inset in Red/White fade) is the one that I know of. This very attractive model, available in Red/White fade or Azure Blue, was a Reynolds 531c model with a Campagnolo Victory group, Maillard 6, 13-21 freewheel, Wolber Alpine rims with Michelin Hi Lite Pro tires and ITM bar and stem. This fine velo sold for a bit over $1,000.00 new in 1988. It might be that there were some component changes (if this is the model in question) on your velo.
Best Regards,
Peter H. |
